Meet Dr. Mancini

WELCOME!  I am so glad that you have decided to learn more about me and my practice. I am board certified in Internal Medicine and believe in caring for patients from a holistic approach.

My experiences in public health, hospital medicine and primary care have provided me with a unique viewpoint on practicing medicine, one that focuses on really listening to my patients, engaging them in their health and wellness, preventing illness before it occurs and focusing on the cause of illness, not just the symptoms. By keeping my practice small, I can remain truly dedicated to my personal goal of caring for patients like family.

Why Old-fashioned Care?

Like many physicians in today’s healthcare environment, I realized that my idea of being a doctor was no longer possible in the current insurance-driven system. I wasn’t able to spend the necessary, quality time with my patients; treatment decisions were often based on what insurance dictated and not what I thought was medically appropriate; and worst of all there was disintegration of the doctor-patient relationship. This is when I decided I had to do something different.

My passion for putting my patients first and treating them like family led me to an innovative healthcare model called Direct Primary Care (DPC). Direct Primary Care allows me to be that old-fashioned doctor we all once had and wish still existed today. It allows me to be the doctor I trained for years to become, living out my passion of providing high quality, compassionate and personalized care.

About me

Prior to medical school I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Florida State University, after which I received a Masters Degree in Public Health from Emory University.  I then spent 5 years as a public health advocate and epidemiologist in the state of Florida. I subsequently went to medical school at Nova Southeastern University and earned a degree in Osteopathic Medicine. My medical training in osteopathic medicine means that I was taught to treat patients from a holistic approach (or “whole person approach”), rather than just as a symptom or syndrome.

Osteopathic Medicine provides all of the benefits of conventional medicine, but also offers the added benefit of hands-on diagnosis and treatment through a system of therapy known as osteopathic manipulative medicine.

After completing my residency in Internal Medicine at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA I moved to the Northshore and worked as a hospitalist before opening up my primary care practice.

On a personal note, I was raised in Florida and now live in Marblehead along with my husband and two step-sons. I still enjoy the sun and warmth, but am slowly getting used to the cold New England winters. I’m also a fan of the Bruins and enjoy cheering for them at both home and away games!
